Sometimes we face hardship after hardship that we forget there is still so much to be grateful for.  So this Thanksgiving, remind yourself of what you are thankful for and share that gratitude with others.  At Thanksgiving dinner, take turns going around the table saying what each one of you is thankful for.  Remember, when we gather for Thanksgiving it is not just about the turkey and pumpkin pie.  If you want Thanksgiving to be meaningful for your family consider these activities and see if you can make a difference.

Ways to put the “thanks” back into Thanksgiving

  • Say thank you to a soldier for their service.  Send a care package to soldiers that are serving in the military and away from home during the holidays.  To a soldier away from loved ones during the holidays receiving a care package can help lift their spirits.
  • Give more than just thanks by sharing.  Encourage loved ones to donate unwanted toys or clothes to charities that provide for those in need.  You can also buy a new toy to donate to a cause.  Toys for Tots, for example, accepts donated toys and distributes them to less fortunate children in time for Christmas.
  • Take sharing to the next level.  If you are thankful for the food placed on your table, share that gratitude by giving a meal to someone who may not have one.  You can volunteer at a shelter to help feed the homeless for Thanksgiving.  Or if you are thankful for the roof over your head, volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home that place families in affordable housing.

At Premium Insurance, we are thankful for you our clients.  And we look forward to another year of working with you to ensure your home, auto and family are protected.  In observance of Thanksgiving our offices will be closed Thursday, November 22nd.  We hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving surrounded by friends and family!
